LOADING
The Purnat obturator, solving the issue of reliability at aging and the using at low temperature of biodegradable materials, it stayed to solve the protection of the barrels for steel shot loading
To achieve this, we developed specific shot containers that meet different loading requirements.
The obturator captures the gases for propulsion, while the container protects the barrel.
The choice of two separate parts for two distinct functions, allow us the possibility to have two different materials to have the best result for each function, the function of obturation and the function of protection for the barrel.
Today, choosing to manufacture a one-piece wad made from biodegradable materials, following the standard design of traditional plastic wads, does not seem wise to us.
Since biodegradable materials do not possess the same mechanical properties as traditional plastics, this would be a compromise between efficient gas capture, cold resistance, proper barrel protection, and durability.
We do not want this type of compromise. Therefore, we opted for loading with the Purnat wad consisting of two components:
• The Purnat obturator to address gas capture, cold resistance, and longevity,
• The Purnat container for barrel protection.
